The conference will take place in Montpellier, France, a beautiful, Mediterranean city with immediate surroundings providing a lot of touristic sites to visit, the vineyards, the coast, the mountains and numerous World heritage sites of the Languedoc-Roussillon region (e.g. Roman remains such as Le Pont du Gard or the Nîmes arenas, the medieval city of Carcassonne, etc.)

Montpellier is one of France’s oldest University cities with Paris and Toulouse (XIII Century), and has become today a major hub for research on environment and development issues. The city is located on hilly ground 10 kilometers (6 mi) inland from the Mediterranean Sea coast on the banks of the Lez River. The medieval center, “the Ecusson”, gives to the city its unique and intimate feeling. We hope that you will take this opportunity to enjoy the social and cultural life of the City and to visit the unique surrounding (natural and Unesco World Heritage sites).

Conference Venue

The symposium will be held at Le Corum, the beautiful convention center of Montpellier, which is a central location, close to the Place de la Comédie, the beating heart of the historic and pedestrian city center, at walking distance of many hotels and restaurants, with a broad range of prices. It is close to Montpellier train and TGV station, Montpellier airport and via the tram.
